Code++Sound++Light

We build software and write custom software for your needs, plus custom show setups, stage design, timecode, custom integrations, light shows, lasers, and equipment consulting.

See what we are doing

CUE++ builds custom software and runs technical production for live events: stage design, lighting and show control, timecode, and custom integrations. We also ship our own tools, including VENU.studio and grandMA3 plugins. Hire us for a show, or use the software we build.

// Work with us

What we can help with.

CUE++ does two things: custom software and technical production. We design and pre-program in the studio, then run it on the night.

// Why we do this

We built what we needed.

We run live shows, and the off-the-shelf stack didn't do everything we needed, so we started building the missing pieces ourselves.

// How we work

Designed in the studio. Run on our own shows first.

We scope every build with you, then design and pre-program it in the studio so nothing gets improvised at the venue.

Before it reaches your show, it runs on one of ours. By your show night, it has already worked at least once.

// Our stack

Different jobs, different tools.

We use whatever fits the work. TypeScript and Next.js for the web, Electron or Tauri for desktop, native apps where it makes sense, and Python or Rust for the heavy real-time bits. Out to the rig we speak OSC, MIDI, DMX/Art-Net and timecode.

Whatever we pick has to survive a live show. There's one take and no second chance, so it has to be reliable, even when we're reaching for something new.

// Where this goes

AI that assists the operator, not replaces them.

We’re building event AI for the busywork like patching and cue cleanup, so designers and operators get their time back for the work only they can do.

We think live production gets better when the tools make people faster, not when they replace them. That’s what we’re building toward.

// What we do

CODE ++ SOUND ++ LIGHT.

We run the show

Lighting, show control, stage and set, previs and full technical production, designed in the studio and run on the night.

  • · Lighting & show control
  • · Stage & set design · previs
  • · Crew, kit & technical direction

We write the code

Custom tools, integrations and event AI, built to make live production run smoother.

  • · Production & show-ops tools
  • · System integration · protocol bridges
  • · AI for live events

We publish the tools

The software we reach for show after show, turned into products anyone in live events can use.

  • · VENU.studio · grandMA3 plugins
  • · OpenRigBase · RiderFlow · ShowFile
  • · Used on live shows

// What we believe

A few things we believe.

// On AI

Keep people on the craft.

  • AI as an assistant
  • AI replacing people
  • AI to help achieve the unthinkable

We point AI at the slow, repetitive work, and leave the craft and the judgment calls to people.

// On technology

The tech should disappear.

Nobody in the audience cares which console we used. We build the software and run the show so the gear stays in the background, and people watch the show instead of the rig.

// On what we ship

We run on the tools we build.

We use every product on our own shows before we offer it to anyone else. A live show is a hard test: it either holds up in the room, or we fix it before it ships.
